Big Data hits $46 billion in revenue — and counting

Big Data has been a buzzword for more than a few years now, and despite the fact that its era is only just starting to dawn, sales of hardware, software, and professional services are already worth an estimated $46bn (£34bn) per annum – from just one-quarter of organisations – and this is expected to rise to $72bn (£54bn) by 2020 with software investments outstripping hardware by over $7bn.
