UK IDEA User Group

The UK IDEA User Group was established in 1991 and is now a thriving community of IDEA users meeting regularly to exchange views and encourage good practice. As well as the main UK User group there are a number of other regional organisations.(see below)

The UK User Group’s main objective is to promote the free exchange of ideas, information and experiences between the users of IDEA.

The secondary objective of the group is to provide a forum for putting suggestions to the suppliers for further enhancement of the product. Representatives from the developers normally attend one meeting each year.

UK User Group meetings:

Based in London the UK User Group holds 2 meetings each year, normally in May and November. At these meetings there are a variety of presentations including technical advice on the use of IDEA. This "Know IDEA" session always arouses a great deal of interest and is accompanied by presentations from members of the User Group focusing on specific issues or the use of IDEA in their organisation.

Early news and demonstrations of new releases:

As part of the User Group there is also the opportunity to see demonstrations of the latest releases of IDEA and also to hear from and talk to the development team.

Information and idea sharing:

At every User Group meeting there is an opportunity to meet other members to discuss the use of IDEA and benefit from the in-depth knowledge that has already been built up by the UK's substantial IDEA user community.

The UK user group committee:

The User Group committee ensures that the meetings represent good value for money and regularly reviews comments/suggestions from attendees. The committee is continually seeking to make the sessions as relevant as possible so any thoughts on topics for discussion are always welcome.

For more information please contact the committee by contacting the UK Chairman- Philip Keown at Grant Thornton on Philip.R.Keown@gtuk.com or call 0870 991 2394.

If you attend a meeting please complete an appraisal form or if you can’t attend please send any comments you may have to any of the committee contacts – you will find their addresses on the User Group website.
