The New Tax Penalty Regime

HM Revenue and Customs, long term users of our IDEA data analysis software, is implementing a new tax reporting penalty regime.
The new measures, due to be introduced on the 5th of September 2009, compel large companies to nominate a Senior Accounting Officer who will be personally responsible for the accuracy of their tax submissions.
In order to protect themselves from the risk of incurring a penalty, SAOs must increase their monitoring of tax accounting systems and redouble efforts to verify tax return submissions.
