Anti Money Laundering

Date: 14th May 2010
Time: 15:00 PM

The term 'money laundering’ refers to all procedures, methods, and transactions designed to change the identity of illegally obtained money so that it appears to have originated from a legitimate source.  It is recognized that cash lends anonymity and is therefore the normal medium of exchange for many forms of criminal activities, in particular, drug and arms trafficking as well as criminal activities involving fraud, dishonesty and corruption.
The Money Laundering Regulations 2007 require you to conduct ongoing monitoring of your business relationships and take steps to be aware of transactions with heightened money laundering or counter-terrorist financing risks.
The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 requires you to report suspicious transactions.

Tax Monitoring

Date: 18th June 2010
Time: 15:00 PM

HM Revenue and Customs, long term users of our IDEA data analysis software, have implemented a new tax reporting penalty regime. The new measures, introduced in September 2009, compel large companies to nominate a Senior Accounting Officer who will be personally responsible for the accuracy of their tax submissions.
In order to protect themselves from the risk of incurring a penalty, SAOs must increase their monitoring of tax accounting systems and redouble efforts to verify tax return submissions.

Payroll Monitoring

Date: 16th July 2010
Time: 15:00 PM

As one of the primary expenditures in many organizations, payroll is often the subject of error, fraud and theft. Variables such as complex tax regulations, time tracking, attendance, incentive based pay and changes in contractual salary agreements, added to the high volume and frequency of transactions, make payroll an intricate task to process.
