Fraud Risk Seminar - 19 May 2009

The Fraud Risk Seminar which took place at the Canadian High Commission on the 19 May 2009, was a huge success.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for attending.  For those that were unable to attend or missed any of the presentations you can download them below.

Malcolm Gardner - Counter-Fraud Group

Malcolm is a well-respected consultant specialising in fraud and corruption within Local Authorities.  He created one of the first specialised Anti-Fraud Teams. Malcolm was an early pioneer in the field of data matching and the use of modern policing methods by benefit investigators.  In his spare time he runs the Counter-Fraud Group.

Bill Trueman - UK Fraud

Bill has worked most of his career in fraud roles, in banking for 13 years and insurance for 7 years. Bill has managed issuer and acquirer card fraud operations and strategy for LloydsTSB, and established a fraud function, processes and strategy for Direct Line insurance.

Ian Henderson - Advanced Forensics

Ian is the Managing Director of Advanced Forensics who specialise in providing forensic support to companies dealing with suspicions of fraud. In the past 5 years Ian has been responsible for over 30 major fraud investigations and has directly facilitated substantial financial recoveries.

Tim Alderson - Stonetrough Data Mining

Tim, a qualified chartered accountant, specialised in IT Audit 25 years ago. He has been using CAATs tools since the 1980s to investigate financial data. He has delivered data mining services for the last nine years, and has been involved in some of the recent large litigation cases in the financial services sector. He has supported forensic, corporate recovery and investigation teams on data mining and IT related matters, particularly on fraud cases, working on assignments with the SFO, FSA, and DTI.
